Start charging those iphones, social nerds: SocialWest is just one month away.
We’re thrilled to be supporting production and sponsoring SocialWest, the largest social media and digital marketing conference on the prairies. From SocialWest:
“SocialWest is a two-day conference purposefully built to empower and educate social media and marketing professionals and small business owners to do better business. Guests will experience value-packed sessions from experts who want to teach, not just talk, about the fundamentals and formulas that make for successful social media strategies for businesses big and small.Bring your notepad and we’ll gather the experts with answers so you can get back to work with a plan that makes sense and the tools to do better.”
SocialWest is for social and digital pro’s who want to stay at the top of their game and small business superstars who do everything and want to grow their social media awareness. Based on the guest list so far, the room is going to be packed with super smart people doing important work across the country. SocialWest attendees: we cannot wait to see you all there!
The venue: The Globe Cinema on Stephen Avenue. Guests will be spend two days bouncing between two iconic theatre spaces, since there are two speakers during each session block for max efficiency – no boring lectures on topics you don’t need here.

SocialWest recently announced its two keynote speakers: Kelly Oxford (best-selling author and social media superstar) and Jason Silver (Airbnb). The session speaker list is also packed with talent, representing brands like Flight Centre, WestJet, Twitter Canada, Facebook, and Edelman and media outlets like Macleans, Metro, Post Media and the National Post. This what sold us on SocialWest. Mike’s vision to is to gather people to teach, not just talk. Less lecture, more instruction. We jumped at the chance to be involved in a turnkey professional development experience.

The best part about working on SocialWest? The Team. We’re jazzed to be working with Mike Morrison (MikesBloggityBlog) and his team to bring this event to life. The worst part? That we’ll be working and can’t attend!
Tickets for the event are 75% sold out as of today, so get yours fast, and take notes will ya? We’ll be watching for your tweets (#socialwest) all week. Got questions? Check out SocialWest’s handy FAQ.
Our final tips:
- Bring a portable phone charger
- Leave the laptop at home (old-timey movie theatres aren’t built with desks and easy-to-find power outlets)
- Plan to take notes
- Bring extra business cards (make sure you have your social channels on there!)
- Put your camera roll to good use: take pics of key slides, of your fellow attendees name tags (match the face, to name, to handle) and max your 140-character limit by ‘tagging’ team-members in the images you share as you spread news throughout the weekend.
See you there!
