Boom Goes The Drum nominated for two 2017 ILEA Espirit Awards

Boom is honoured to be a finalist in two categories for the ILEA Espirit Awards 2017. Thank you also to the Awards committee for consideration and for this honour, and to all of Boom’s partners for helping us to do great work.

One of those honours is for ‘Best Event for a Non-Profit’ for LOOK2016 which we produced in the fall of 2016 for Contemporary Calgary. We share this recognition with the team from CC (which includes not only staff but volunteers, committees, sponsors, and the board) as well as our event partners and supporters.

The second nomination is for Best Wedding. We were honoured to be a part of the Godfrey’s love story, and share this nomination with them. More on this event here.

Boom Goes The Drum has been nominated for a Gala Award for Best Achievement in Logistics from The Special Events magazine for the 2014 Beakerhead’s The Periodic Table. The Gala Awards have been given by Special Events magazine, the premier industry publication, since 1986, when the awards honored the “top 10 events of 1985.” They recognize the finest work in special events worldwide. For the 2016 Gala Awards, the magazine received entries in 35 categories from nine countries: Australia, Canada, China, Germany, India, Ireland, Malaysia, the United Kingdom and the United States of America. Members of the Special Events magazine Advisory Board, made up of leaders in the event profession, review all entries to determine the nominees and winners. LOOK2015 Reaches 1$ Million Goal

Success!  Today, LOOK2015 is featured in the Calgary Herald in celebration of meeting the fundraising goal of one million dollars! “The goal of the event was to raise $1 million needed to establish Temporary Contemporary in the Centennial Planetarium, a pop-up space scheduled to open in the fall of 2016.
