The LOOK series for Contemporary Calgary has been widely acclaimed as one of Canada’s hottest events (Globe and Mail, 2015), and LOOK2016 is well on its way to dazzling Calgarians once more and adding to the event’s impressive pedigree. Not sure what to expect? We’ve given you an exclusive sneak peak into the inner workings of LOOK2016 and what guests can look forward to experiencing night-of!
A One Night Only Pop Up Restaurant, Curated by Brett McDermott
VIP Plus guests will be treated to a one night only, pop up restaurant, created by one of Calgary’s top chefs and owner of Our Daily Brett, Brett McDermott. Guests will enjoy a plated, highly crafted, sumptuous three course meal, inspired by the spirit and creative verve of the art and artists featured at LOOK2016.
Canada’s Largest Contemporary Art Auction and Interactive Installations
Everyone knows from past LOOK’s that the art and art installations end up stealing the show. As Canada’s largest contemporary and modern art auction, LOOK2016 will expose guests to the work of some of our nation’s most talked-about artists and give them a chance to take home a piece of creative history. Additionally, attendees will actively participate in ‘art-work’ as they interact with pieces by Dave Dyment, Sasha Foster, and Natural Real Supreme.

The Factory Party
The Factory Party was introduced to Calgary in 2008 as a revival of Andy Warhol’s infamous NYC parties at his Manhattan studio named “The Factory”. Known for curating some of Calgary’s most exceptional visual artists and live music acts in one space for a spectacular experience, The Factory Party is returning from a 6 year hiatus as the official After Party for LOOK2016.

Nothing inspires social courage quite like a creative atmosphere (and perhaps a glass of Moët), and on October 22 Calgarians will abandon any wall-flower inhibitions and step into the colour washed walls of LOOK2016 decked out in their very best. Come prepared for some of the best people watching of the year. NOTE: feathers, fuchsia, and fans encouraged.
We look forward to welcoming you into the planetarium and seeing you at this year’s LOOK2016. Tickets and more information can be found here.
